Apple iMac SSD and OSX Upgrades

An existing customer called us about their 2 Apple iMac systems. They were both from around 2011 and running Mountain Lion OSX. The customer also said that they were slow and couldn’t run various websites because their browsers were out of date. They didn’t want to replace the PC’s as they were in good condition so we recommended both had SSD upgrades and also an OSX upgrade to High Sierra. This was as far as they could go in OSX terms but would still allow them to use current browsers and give them a few years of use.

We supplied and fitted a 1TB and a 512GB SSD to replace what the existing iMacs had installed. We then installed a copy of High Sierra OSX via USB and then used the data transfer wizard to move over the existing data from the old hard drive via a USB convertor.

We then upgraded the Office versions as it was out of date.

The iMacs started up very quickly and the customer was extremely happy with the new performance and that they could now access websites that they previously couldn’t
