Our customer was using a Ring Doorbell but the unit was placed outside of the gate on a brick column. The gates were a good 20 metres from the front of the house so the signal to the WiFi Router was poor even though the Router was sat at the Window.

In the garage there was a working Cat 5 port so we installed a TP-Link EAP225-Outdoor Dual-Band WiFi 5 PoE Access Point (1200Mbps AC) connected directly to it.

We then ran the Cat 5 cable out of the garage and placed the unit on the under side of the garage.

The outdoor signal was now excellent but still not great where the Ring was located. The TP link only worked when connected to the Lan so we added a wavlink-ac600-dual-band-5g-2-4g-wireless-wifi-router-ap-repeater. There was power by the gate so once the Wavlink was connected to the TP link in Repeater mode we were able to get a good signal to the Ring doorbell.

A long winded way to get connection to the Ring doorbell but good use of the outdoor WiFI equipment made it possible.
