Apple MacBook Pro SSD Upgrade

A customer reported that their 2012 MacBook Pro was refusing to load so we recommended they drop it to us for a free diagnosis.

Upon booting the MacBook we noticed straight away that the ? sign appeared which was a good indication of a hard drive issue. We booted the system to the Disk Utility and noticed that there was no option showing any drive.

Because the MacBook would need a new drive anyway we recommended a new 250GB SSD. These drives give around 12-13 x the speed from when you boot to the OS or just generally using applications. They are cheaper for 250GB SSD than a 1TB normal Sata drive so if space isn’t a major concern it’s a better option.

We had to install High Sierra OS first and then upgraded to Catalina which was the highest this 2012 system could achieve.

The results were very impressive with boot times down to 15 seconds from minutes.
