Our customers HP Laptop would not boot into Windows. They dropped it to us for a free assessment and diagnostics.

Although we couldn’t find an actual hard drive fault using the laptops built in HP diagnostics, we were unable to reinstall Windows on the drive. We recommended the customer to upgrade to an SSD as they needed a reinstall anyway anyway SSD offers such a vast improvement on performance it’s really worth it.

We installed the SSD and Windows 10 in no time. We then discovered that data recover via Windows Explorer was not possible. This backed up our idea that the drive was probably faulty in some way and should be replaced.

We used a piece of software that is used for forensic recovery which managed to get 100% of data back.
