HP All In One SSD Hard Drive Upgrade

A customer contacted us via our Website contact page to report an issue with their HP All in One. We advised them to bring it to us for a free diagnosis. Because of Corona Virus restrictions we asked them to call when outside so we could do a safe drop off.

We ran the onboard diagnostics which are built into most HP computers. This gave a fail on the hard drive test so we contacted the customer to let them know a hard drive replacement would be needed. As the hard drive was an old style SATA drive we offered a modern super fast SSD. They did not need much space so we installed a 250GB Crucial SSD.

The All in one was taken apart. On this model the screen has to come out to access the motherboard and hard drive. We carefully took out the footer bracket and then edged out the screen using a towel to protect it.

The SSD hard drive was installed and the All in one put back together.

We then installed Windows 10, drivers etc.

The machine booted to Windows in under 15 seconds so it was running so much faster because of the SSD upgrade.
