Our customer based in West Wickham called us about his laptop not booting up. We ran through some options but the system would still not start up so we advised them to bring it in for a free diagnosis.

It seemed likely that the hard drive was failing so we took the back off the laptop to remove the drive. We then hooked it up to a USB 3 caddy and connected it to another computer. The hard drive failed to load in Windows explorer which was a sure sign it had issues.

We used a Forensic Recovery software to get access to the drive successfully and then to the user profile.

The recovery ran overnight and took around 15 hours to recover around 4GB of data. We provided a fixed price repair of £90, recovered to a USB stick provided by the customer.
