Apple MacBook Pro Hard Drive Cable Replacement

Our customer based in Beckenham contacted us because his Apple Macbook Pro Laptop had the fleshing question mark on boot up. We explained that this could mean that the hard drive has died and would need replacing. The customer did not have a back up of the data so was concerned at this news.

On inspection of the MacBook Pro Pro we tested the hard drive which appeared to be healthy. We tried to install onto a new hard drive but the MacBook behaved strangely first not seeing the drive and then seeing it but refusing to format fully and reinstall OSX.

Because of this we suspected that the cable that connects the hard drive to the motherboard was faulty. We ordered a next day replacement and installed the new cable. Bingo! the old hard drive fired straight up into OSX.

No lost data and a happy customer.
